Ok, I was FINALLY able to update this guest bathroom!
This bathroom has been on my list for a while – I painted half of the wall right before the pandemic and left it there for almost a year!! At the time, I was teaching virtually, and honestly, my entire family was trying to figure out this “new normal.”
Our guest bath is downstairs right off the mudroom and our guest bedroom. It probably is the most used bathroom in our home. I have wanted to update this for some time due to the ugly TAN vinyl floors and the dull ivory cultured marble.
The very first thing I started with was doing away with those. This next hack is a super inexpensive way to get a new and very durable look for your countertops for less than 10 dollars! This bathroom is getting a very modern, clean update with bold contrasting colors.
Let's Spray those Countertops!
This little can of epoxy spray is genuinely a nifty product. At just under five dollars, you can’t go wrong! Please follow the directions you can and do not veer from them. I found this out the hard way. The first coat went great, but there is a 30-minute window to apply your second coat. If you pass that window, the product gets bubbly, requiring 24-48 hours to coat again. Another tip I can offer is to cover everything well that you don’t want to be sprayed because the overspray is yucky. A proper mask is a must because this stuff is pretty strong. As long as you take these extra precautions, you will have a beautiful finish to be proud of.
Paint
I decided to keep the color scheme light and bright, like a resort bath for my guest to enjoy. The walls needed to make a statement, but just a subtle one as the details of this room will stand out.
The paint color I chose was a beautiful pink. This color was perfect as it made a soft statement but will definitely accent the other colors in our new guest bath.
